More of our story...

Remember 9/11/2001.
Children’s Chance is
serving over 2 million

Your support makes
our dream a reality.

The United States discards millions of useable textbooks and library books every year.

This year, Children’s Chance shipped 175,000 books!

2011 was a record year for us. We shipped 5 containers (175,000 books) to 5 countries: Antigua, Belize, Guyana, Jamaica and The Bahamas. Each country received 1,300 boxes containing 35,000 books for their schools and libraries.

Children’s Chance (CC) has sent 76 containers to 10 English-speaking nations totaling almost 3 million books. It took 20 years to collect the first million books and, after Peter retired to work full time on CC, we collected our second million in 5 years.

We will hopefully reach 3 million books collected, packaged and shipped in 2012.

We work to eliminate the shortage of school textbooks and library books in English-speaking countries.

To fulfill this mission, we:

We are a 501(C) (3) Minnesota nonprofit corporation, established in 1988.

Beginning with one school in 1980, our down-to-earth project is now working with hundreds of libraries and hundreds of schools.with 110 schools and 140 public libraries throughout Jamaica.

We were serving 100 children in 1980. Now we are serving over 2,000,000 schoolchildren.
